I am a native New Orleanian who moved to Austin with my wife and children in late 2005 then back to New Orleans in 2010. In April of 2001, I co-founded and currently manage Hartwig Moss Benefits with offices in New Orleans and Austin. Because of this, I am lucky enough to be able to split my time Letting the Good Times Roll and Keeping Austin Weird.
A graduate of Loyola University New Orleans, I have been a licensed Life & Health Insurance agent for more than 18 years – spending my early years working for large national insurance companies like Allstate, Unum and Prudential. I currently serves as President-Elect of the Human Resources Managers Association of New Orleans. I am an active member of the New Orleans Associations of Health Underwriters, the National Association of Independent Financial Advisors, the Business Advisory Committee for the Louisiana Department of Labor and a former member of The Workforce Investment Board (Job1). I was recognized by New Orleans City Business as a member of the “2002 Power Generation.” I was also recognized as a 2011 Rising Star by Employee Benefit News.
I have made presentations to numerous industry associations and employer groups on benefit trends and technology. In addition, I have written articles for Insurance Journal titled “Who Moved My Benefits? Dealing with Change in Employee Benefits” and “Who’s Driving Consumer Driven Healthcare?”
As an independent benefits consultant, I work closely with employer groups to strategically design and creatively communicate comprehensive benefit plans. I love connecting with others and helping them evaluate complicated options in an effort to achieve their business goals. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing golf and tennis and exploring new gadgets and technology.
